A Mountain and a Lake

A Mountain and a Lake

The mountain
beheld the silvery lake
at the rocky bottom of
its base.

The water enveloped the mountain—
the snow capped peaks
spread amidst a blue sky—
an endless ceiling encompassing
the sun’s radiance.

The mountain and the lake
spoke to each other
without words:
—they drew no comparisons
—they did not compete
—they did not make mention
of their differences…

Instead, they ‘blended’ into
each other
their Oneness…
a mirror’s image of what
the human eye sees dimly.
